I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move.
~Robert Louis Stevenson

Can't say that time crawls, but its been a while since I updated anything around here', but the exams have just bidded me farewell and the 3 month or so holidays have greeted me with open arms. So I'm cool.

Anyway, been so lazy lately that my pile of notes is still sitting on my study desk, waiting to be filed and kept away (forever out of sight and out of mind)...but I guess I'm still that closet lazy bitch so I'll just let them sit there for a while. Meant to post some pictures on my amazing Thailand holiday with some friends over the feb one week break but now its already May and the holiday photos are long over their sell-out date. No longer hot-out-of-the-oven. So no more element of freshness or fun, and no much value for me to post them up. But the good (or depending on how you view it) thing is that I'm packing myself off to Cambodia in less than 2 weeks time and I'm thrilled that I can visit one of the wonders of the world, which is Angkor wat. Not so thrilled I am is about the weather, which is a sweltering 37 degrees C. God, I'm so going to be a roasted pig. I shall slap on massive amounts of sunblock (SPF50++), put on my cover-half-my-face shades, have a cap on to protect my head (lest I can start frying an egg on top) and then have an umbrella on hand...that will be quadruple protection for you, thank you very much. haha... I believe that I will be snapping a lot pictures and I'll be sure to post them up fast, before they pass their sell-out date.

Talking about travelling, this year I have been extremely blessed, cos given my ever diminishing financial state of affairs, I managed to visit and am about to visit some great places. Just last dec, I was down at Holland and Belgium hanging out with dear Lawrence and Marcel, then in feb, I was in Thailand hanging out with my dear thai friends, and in less than 2 weeks I'll be marveling over Angkor wat with my bestie. And if luck allows, I'll be packing off to Sweden next Jan-Jun for a half year study exchange. The feeling of estacy that travelling can give can't be described with mere words or photos alone. I always felt that our eyes are the best cameras, they capture the most surreal and extraordinary moments. One can describe to a vivid extent, the sights and sounds of an unforgettable holiday to an interested friend, but the friend can never understand the "out-of-body" experience that his/her storyteller had tasted. That's the beauty of great holidays, they lift you up, visually stimulates you, eternally leaves a memory deeply etched in your mind, heighten your senses, lets you drop your guard and transcends you to a world you never knew existed. So far, I only had this feeling of surrealism twice, once in Amsterdam and the other was in Koh Samed beach resort...a feeling that I do not have concerns in this world and my body and soul was free to wander without any worries or burdens. Being able to travel is great, so if anyone can offer me a job as a traveller, I'll gladly take it.

One of my favourite activities is to take photos of just about anything, so my goal now is to collect photos of the 7 wonders of the world, I don't really know what those really are cos they are changing all the time, but if I'm not wrong, besides Angkor wat, there's the leaning tower of Pisa, Great wall in China, Taj Mahal in India, the Colosseum in Rome, Great pyrimid of Giza etc...I aim to take pictures of those. Especially the Colosseum!!! Oh my god, what a beauty. Currently top of my travel list is Rome...in my idea, the most beautiful place in the whole wide world. I remember marveling over Lawrence's photos that he took in Rome, the cathedrals, sculptures, architecture...I long to touch them with my own hands. USA comes a close second, for its amazing shopping! My top 5 dream locations...

1. Italy, Rome; Pisa (A picture to remind me that eventually I will touch & see this beauty for real)

Photobucket

2. States, LA; New York; Miami ; San Francisco
3. Russia

4. Egypt
5. France, Paris

Now all I need is lots of money & a year break & I'm good to go! Shall invest in ToTo!!!

Till then I can only dream.... ... ...and meanwhile be contented with Cambodia 1st. ;p
